Each year, the Washington State Hunter Jumper Association holds its Annual Awards Banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of its member riders and horses. Awards in both the WSHJA State and National Points Programs are presented.

Winning can be attributed to many hours of hard work and training, early mornings in the saddle, and the untiring support of family, friends and trainers. And of course, none of it would be possible without the fabulous horses that we ride. The WSHJA Annual Awards Banquet is our way of bringing the membership together to celebrate the love of the sport and the love of the horse!

This year’s banquet is being held in the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue Washington.

Everyone at WSHJA hopes you have enjoyed this show season--having had fun and success at all the shows you attended. Please keep in mind that qualifying for year-end awards requires you and each horse show in TWO USEF-rated Washington State shows. That’s two shows for you the rider to earn equitation points and two shows for each horse registered with WSHJA to earn hunter or jumper points. Thanks to the tremendous commitment of WSHJA’s Points Chair, Karen Freywald, you might have noticed that your point standings are updated within two weeks of the end of show dates. Not only that, Karen has proactively reached out to everyone to help get their membership current or their horses recorded so that they receive each and every point earned. Please recognize Karen for the spectacular job she’s done so far!

With over 130 year-end award categories, 81 for the National Program and 51 for State, it is quite the undertaking to ensure all points earned from the many horse shows WSHJA members attend up and down the coast are captured and accrued properly.
