Refine Your Ride with Lindy Townley is a two-day educational riding clinic hosted by WSHJA, a 501c3, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and developing equestrian sport in Washington State. This clinic is designed to offer a training opportunity for emerging riders at the Crossrails to 3-foot level, helping to promote skill development, confidence, and long-term engagement in the hunter/jumper discipline.

The clinic will be taught by Lindy Townley, a respected coach and lifelong equestrian with extensive experience training riders of all levels. The event provides a unique opportunity for riders to learn in a structured and supportive environment.

Cost​

WSHJA will sponsor the cost of the CLINIC FEE* 

*Participants are responsible for any other associated costs, including but not limited to stabling, transportation, feed, day care, etc. 

Participants 

Up to 20 WSHJA members from the Crossrail to 3-foot levels will be selected through an application and randomized lottery selection process. All participants must be current WSHJA members at the time of application. Groups will be formed based on rider level and experience to ensure a productive learning environment. 

 

Clinic Format ​

• Five instructional groups of four riders each 

• 1.5-hour sessions per group, each day 

• Sessions divided by fence height: 

• Crossrail to 18” 

• 2’ – 2’3” 

• 2’6” 

• 2’9” – 3’

Facility ​

The clinic will be hosted at Bridle Trails State Park in the Main Outdoor arena.

• Stabling will be available (Fee TBA)

  • Stalls must be stripped at the end of your horses stay 

• Haul-in option available (Fee TBA) 

• Participants may arrive on September 4th at 2 pm. Flatting only.

 

Application Process ​

All WSHJA members in good standing, including professionals, will be eligible to apply by submitting an application by August 1st, 2026. Horse, rider, and their affiliated trainer must be active WSHJA members prior to application submission to be considered.

Selection Process ​

Our objective is to have diverse clinic representation across WSHJA membership and barns. Participant and section assignments will be assigned by lottery, subject to final review by the planning committee. If the first section preference for selected participants is not available, we will make best effort to offer their second preference. We will notify section assignment via email, and request confirmation of the section and the horse/and rider participating. If lottery assignments are declined or unclaimed, we will offer the spot to another interested party. We will maintain a waitlist should the selected preference not be available or in the case of unexpected openings/changes.
