One Membership Covers the Horse If:
-
The horse is owned by an immediate family member.
-
The horse is co-owned by a partnership, syndication, or farm entity (only one principal owner needs to be a WSHJA member).
-
-
Leased Horses: The lessee must be a WSHJA member and listed on the application. The horse owner (lessor) does not need to be a member.
Your Horse's USEF Number serves as their WSHJA Number. Please have it ready.
🛑 Don't Lose Your Points! Check These Three Rules:
1. The Trainer Rule
Your hard work won't count if your trainer isn't registered!
-
Hunter & Jumper: The trainer of the recorded horse must be a WSHJA member.
-
Equitation: The trainer of the rider must be a WSHJA member.
-
Hard Deadline: Trainers must be active members by September 30 of the current calendar year or all prior points are forfeited.
2. The Effective Date Rule
Points cannot be applied retroactively. Your membership and horse recording become effective the first day of the week that your online application is submitted with valid payment. Any points earned before this date will not count.
3. The 30-Day Non-USEF Rule
Missing a USEF number? If your horse, rider, owner, or lessee does not have a USEF number at a rated show, you must notify the WSHJA Points Chair in writing within 30 days of the show's completion. Include all classes and divisions competed in, or the points will be lost.
